Prep Lessons learned from Haiti
Anyone have any modifications to their own survival prep? I am in the early stages of my own prep, just curious on hearing from the wisdom of others.
here are mine: - Since I live in an urban environment, adding an iron fence and other 'break in' safeguards was added onto my list. - Water storage moved up to #1. - Purchasing none fuel related energy generating sources, such as solar panels, wind generators etc. - Adding a healthy stash of food that doesn't not require cooking to get me through the first few hard weeks. |
Re: Prep Lessons learned from Haiti
If you have learned anything from the Haiti ordeal, it's get OUT of the urban setting. Unless you turn into a warlord, you are going to get killed by the horde if you have what they want. No amount of security measures will stop them if they haven't had any food or water in 3 days.

e.g. BC, Canada. one of the Can. government website predicts an 8.0 "any day now". when i was in Vancouver in 2004, some of the buildings reminded me of the freeway section that collapsed in the '89 quake in the SF Bay Area. |

More like a mud hut. Imagine years of 'construction' using dirt and stones
and very little 'engineering'. Use Google Earth and see Port Au Prince...it's a mismatch of this and that... Voodoo religion and voodoo construction techniques.... |
